  1. I also had about $150 OBC from the credit card. I did it intentionally so I'd have more OBC. It worked fine to call or do it online.
  2. Yikes! We were there last year and it was a very long line for chairs/tents. Then we went to the food/drink area. There were 3 different very long lines. There were no signs for what line was for what. It was hot and frustrating for every single person there. Come on - use common sense! Put up a sign "Drinks" or "Food" or "Pickup". It was terrible!
  3. Things change. I remember when I was younger flying in coach and receiving a full meal with real cutlery. Now, some airlines don't give you anything for free. I flew home 2 years ago from Sweden, and we had to pay for bottled WATER! So, I'm disappointed, but not surprised. I still love cruising and it's not just about the room service. Hopefully they won't take away too much from the experience and then a cruise will only be transportation.
  4. Thank you for that! I booked with a TA and on the invoice from them it states an amount of money for OBC. I just looked at my Cruise Planner online and there is an amount showing for OBC. Are you saying that the OBC on my Cruise Planner is from Celebrity, not the TA? So, then I can expect more OBC from the TA once we sail? Sounds too good to be true! Maybe it's my lucky day!
  5. From what I understand, if you book a future cruise with Celebrity while onboard, you get perks like reduced deposit and double the onboard credit being offered online. After you book, you can transfer it to a travel agent and then, hopefully, get more perks from them. I could be wrong, but that's what I heard. We booked a future cruise when we were on a couple of weeks ago. We are now looking at what perks are being offered. If I'm incorrect, I hope someone will correct me! TIA!
  6. Thanks! I've never done this before and will need to do so soon!
  7. I received the offer as well, but threw it out thinking it was not real. Any idea how to get the offer now without the flyer? TIA
  8. Horseshoe Bay Beach last Wednesday (July 20) $70 for two chairs and a "tent". They called it a tent, but it was just one of those 4-cornered canopies that you see vendors use and at craft shows, etc. The line was incredibly long. The beach was packed. The 6 different lines at the refreshment station had no signs (food/drinks) at all. One person waited in a line for 35 minutes, only to find out that the line was for drinks and she was ordering food. If you were only one person and needed to order both food and drinks, you would have to wait in each separate line, for maybe 30+ minutes each. Then the wait for the food was over 40 minutes. I lost my Maui Jim sunglasses in the breaking surf! 😞 Otherwise, it was a great day!

  10. So many of you are telling me that because my partner recently had Covid and is still testing positive, that even with a Certificate of Recovery, she will not be allowed to go to Bermuda. HOWEVER, why, then does the Celebrity website for Bermuda (https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/bermuda-travel-requirements) state this: Bermuda Travel Requirements as of June 22, 2022 Guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may present a Certificate of Recovery and proof of the positive PCR test result taken between 11-90 days prior to the sail date in order to board. We will not accept a Certificate of Recovery in place of a vaccination record.
  11. Does anyone have an update to this topic? I am in the same boat! Thanks.
  12. I would love to hear from someone first hand that they were able or they were not able to go to Bermuda on a cruise ship with a Certificate of Recovery. For those who don't know - you can test positive for up to 3 months after recovering from Covid, but you are not contagious.
  13. So, this sounds like no one can take a cruise to Bermuda if they have a Certificate of Recovery? Is that what you're saying? Sorry to sound stupid. I just am trying to figure this out.
  14. Bermuda has transferred all Covid test result handling to the cruise ships. Celebrity does accept the Certificate of Recovery. My question was about having a PCR test or an antigen test to qualify. Tom & Judy answered on the Celebrity forum that antigen tests have been added in addition to the PCR test results for the COR. So, we should be ok. Thank you!
  15. To those of you contributing, thank you so much for your thoughtful responses. For those of you saying Bermuda does not accept Certificates of Recovery, that is incorrect. Bermuda has passed off managing the Covid testing results to the cruise ships. We already completed and were approved by Bermuda for the Travel Authorization. So, Celebrity is in charge of accepting testing results and they do accept Certificates of Recovery. Tom & Judy, to you I thank so much because your response is the news I was hoping for! Sometimes people offer suggestions, but they don't have any actual proof and research to back those suggestions. There are so many updates and everything is changing. I appreciate your reply, as it was thorough and researched. I didn't know they are allowing results from antigen tests for the COR. I can pack now! Only 7 days to go! For those of you suggesting to keep testing and hope for a negative result - we will definitely do that, as it would make everything easier if she just tests negative! Again, to everyone - thank you! I wish you all "smooth" sailing!
  16. I will post this question in the Bermuda forum too. My partner got Covid exactly 11 days prior to our cruise on Celebrity to Bermuda. She has been fully vaccinated and boosted. She got a test at Walgreens and it was positive. She has been in touch with her doctor and is going to get a Certificate of Recovery to bring to the port. We just noticed that the positive test was an antigen, not a PCR. How much of a problem might that be? By the time we realized it (today - 7 days pre-cruise), it would be too late to get a PCR test, as it has to be 11-90 days pre-cruise. Now what? Any thoughts on providing a positive supervised antigen test vs. positive PCR test to fulfill the requirements? TIA!

  18. Jim, have you received an answer about Bermuda? I have this situation too and am sailing next week.
  19. I have a similar problem and am wondering what the answer will be. I will be following along.
  20. Thank you everyone for your thoughtful and concise responses! Would you recommend Nord for a VPN? If so, about how much is it? I saw the different plans and am wondering if there is something I should know about how to choose. Thanks!
  21. Please excuse my ignorance. I am interested in getting a VPN myself. My question is what benefit do you get with using a VPN on the cruise? I understand you will use the ship's wifi to get on and then switch to the VPN. Why? Again, sorry for the stupid question. Thanks!
  22. Does the concession stand have refreshments - food, beverages, beer? Chairs and umbrellas? TIA!
  23. OOPS! Yes, it is July 20, not May! Thanks for the catch. We were on the Solstice in Alaska on May 20!!! What was I thinking?? Thanks! 😉
  24. We will be sailing on Celebrity Summit to Bermuda. The ship will be at Kings Wharf. I looked online and discovered that there will be 3 ships in port on May 20 - Carnival Legend, Norwegian Joy, and Summit. The pier only has space for 2 ships. Which of the three will have to tender? Anyone know? TIA!
  25. We have chosen these same cabins for the 3 Summit cruises we have taken! There aren't that many either. I think they might be a bit larger as well (even though it doesn't state that on the details). So happy!
