Airline Luggage fees

When booking your flight thru NCL, does anybody know if you have to pay extra for the luggage fees with airline?

It depends on the airline.  If you have a promotion that includes a flight assigned by NCL you wont know until you get your air itinerary.

I would plan on paying luggage (baggage) fees unless traveling

in a premium class (First - Business) or have an affinity credit card

or other connection with the airline that NCL has arranged.

I had thought there were some credit cards without an annual fee that provided free checked bags but it doesn't look like (although some waive the fee for the first year). Once you know the airline it still might be worth considering one of them especially when you add in the value of the signup bonus offers.

NCL will buy the cheapest tickets.  Expect to pay, especially if within N America.    For international travel, some airlines may allow 1 or even 2 pieces checked in free.

 

If you have status with an airline alliance, or credit card that covers 1st piece luggage with certain airlines, that'll be good, otherwise expect to pay.

Affinity credit cards booked through a 3rd party such as NCL can sometimes result in the free luggage perk to not be included.  It sometimes only works on directly purchasing your air from the airline.

Once you get your record locator number you can use that to go directly to the airline's website and put in your status/loyalty number if you have one.
