New Captains Club discounts- booking in advance?

I would like to book the hot glass experience and the digital photo package. I saw these are in the new Captain's Club program changes as 5% discount on the hot glass and 40% on the photo package for Elite members. I have called in and they say these discounts can't be applied precruise? Is this correct?

How do I get the discount or is this benefit useless?

But the onboard cost is much more than the precruise cost!

To get the wi-fi discount and beverage package upgrade discount I spoke to the Enhancement department who took care of it.

They said they could do the wifi and beverage package discounts but they didn't see anything for the hot glass or the photo package. It's listed in the new benefits.

Are you saying onboard less 40% is much more than the precruise cost?

I once got 20% discount on my glass piece for being in a suite. Buy it now and talk to the captains club host once on board.

I just went through this with the photo package.  I called for the Elite discount but they could not do it pre cruise.  They told me to ask for the discount when on board and it would be applied/refunded.  So I booked it with the pre cruise price, and then when on board asked for the 40% discount to be applied.  They said I could have one or the other.....the pre cruise discount, or full price with the 40% off due to Elite.

Which rate worked out the best? If you booked pre-cruise did they allow you to reprice on board?

It worked out better to go with the full price and use the Elite 40% discount.  And yes, they allowed me to re-book on board.

Thanks! It did seem too good to be true when I called X and the rep said I would get the Elite discount off the pre sale price on board…
