Increase in Taxes After Final Payment

Noticed that two cruises we have booked have new tax amounts.  Fare remains same but taxes have increased about 12%. So do we get a bill now, on the ship, or never?  TA is off for long weekend, so interested if anyone has experience with this.  Thanks!

If you are after final payment,  it will be charged to your on board account. If before,  it will be included in your final payment.

If you are noticing this on trying to do a new booking and taxes higher than you paid and you have paid final you more than likely will not be charged anything extra, but if before final they can choose to increase the port taxes. Our recent Rotterdam cruise was showing an increase in taxes after final and we were never charged extra.

While fares are protected after the initial booking, increases in taxes are typically charged regardless of payment status.

Thank you, Lisa, for the personal and expert info. Way past final payment date and we are  paid in total, so maybe we are clear.  BTW: thanks so much for the Rotterdam posts: most enjoyable!
