They can tell you when you are on a cruise with them.

Update: Princess will NOT give us the OBC for the 2nd cancelled cruise on our ONE replacement. They allowed us to apply both sets of FCC to one new cruise but I guess there is a limit on OBC. Maybe I just didn't read the TNCs closely enough. I'm going to go back over everything with a fine tooth comb. So for now we have to pick a different cruise to apply that OBC to. I'm a little annoyed and might see if I can take this up the chain and find someone to allow an exception or something.

Sorry, haven't read back the couple pages of postings on this topic since I was last here.....  Someone may have mentioned this

I used a FCC expiring Dec 2022 on this trip.  I've been trying to use that credit for a while but Princess keeps cancelling my cruises, 4 of them so far.  I was quite unhappy when I saw my FCC was returned with the same expiry date.  I will be unable to use this up prior to year end as I have other travel plans.

Did this happen to anyone else?  I had read on here others who booked Diamond to use up FCC expiring Dec 2022 so others were in the same boat.

Yes. It took me 3 days to reach my Princess Vacation Planner.  She told me that she had a weeks worth of backlog phone calls of people trying to reach her.  This started right after the letter went out cancelling the Diamond cruises.

I have a Princess CVP who I have worked with for years and he's amazing. He can't always get back to me right away. They are all swamped and working long hours right now, especially since the Diamond cancellations. But he usually gets back to me within a day. On the 8th when the cancellations were announced I called him right away and even though it was after his normal hours he called back within 30 minutes and got everything taken care of super quickly. I owe him a nice bottle of scotch or something for all the times I ask to change cabins after something I read on here or a review video, add or remove pax, move deposits to new cruises etc. Haha!

Princess made a huge mess for me and my Costco TA to clean up. We were previously booked on the Discovery Nov. 5th sailing before Princess offered it as a "make up" cruise. My main goal was to get all of our OBC & FCC moved over to the Discovery along with the additional OBC that princess was offering. Unfortunately it didn't happen so smoothly. My Costco TA stayed on hold for 2 hour increments for supervisors only to be disconnected-hung up on. This took a total of two days. I had the same problem, I waited for a supervisor twice for over 2 hours only to be disconnected-hung up on. The problem started when Princess booked us another cabin on the Discovery and cancelled our already booked cabin. It was a huge mess, and it would take too long to explain all that went wrong. Our $$ was flying everywhere and they didn't even use the $1,400 FCC that was about to expire that I used on my original Discovery booking 😡 that they cancelled. Not to mention our excursions were canceled and dining reservations. Luckily we got our cabin back and I was able to rebook our excursions but I was unable to secure our original 2 specialty dining reservations. I will be writing a long letter to Princess customer's service in the very near future.

Bottom line we were able to use all our FCC and they applied all of our OBC along with the additional $200 promised by Princess. I will be going to the spa and casino allot 😅 I'm hoping to cash it out at the casino if I don't spend it all. Because I'm sure you all know, if you don't use it, you lose it.

@rheathslc You probably already know this but you will receive 2 cruise credits when you book a full suite.

Cheers everyone 🥂

They should definitely be giving you both. Call and speak to a supervisor in addition to writing an email. I was very firm in what I expected of them. I didn't take no for an answer and if someone said no to me I asked to speak to their supervisor. I was driven by my anger 😆😆😆

I do 🙂 And we were in a suite for both of the 5-day cruises on the Diamond but replaced them with a single 7-day so only 2 credits and not 4 like we would have gotten. I guess I'll just have to reach elite the hard way like most other people. Haha!

I plan on it when I've got a bit of time to spare waiting on hold forever.

I hope you have a great cruise and birthday! 🎂

Maybe someday we will meet up on another cruise board and make it to the same boat 😉😅

Cheers, Noreen 🥂

Thank you! I hope we can someday!

We'll for sure be on the Discovery on Feb 11th 2023 for a 5-day Cabo cruise and April 2024 for the 10-Day Mexican Riviera Eclipse cruise. We MIGHT get one in between those but not certain yet.

I got my OBC…via Live Chat.  It took 37 minutes.  The person helping me said that he needed a supervisor’s approval but they were all in a meeting so we could disconnect and he would make sure it was completed.  I said not acceptable, I’ve been down that road before without success.  2 minutes later the credit was in my account.  I’m sure the supervisor just needed to put in an override code.

By this point it was the principle not the money involved.  I will never use my PVP again.  He has been so ineffectual.  I wish those of you who like yours could tell me their names.   My fingers are crossed for those of you who have either not received your FCC or OBC.  😊

I am glad to know some of these things can be taken care of through chat. My CVP has been helpful, but one issue with my move-over has not been resolved to my satisfaction, and I hate to bug her again, since she wasn't originally involved with it.

Has anyone received a reply from Princess notifying you that your replacement cruise now has a Shortfall in funds, even though the original canceled cruise was paid in full?

It looks like my FCC from a previous canceled cruise was not moved over and now it shows that I owe more money to Princess to cover my replacement cruise in full or my booking will be canceled.

Very frustrating that the right hand does not speak to the left hand when these changes are made.

There goes a few more hours on hold to get things figured out.

Do you have a TA Or CVP that could help?

If not, there is a call back option for the PCL phone line now.
There are different departments that handle these move over ships. One may not have caught up yet, that applies the FCC’s to them.

I think if you click on my name you can see some of my recent posts about this.  It involves various departments. My CVP reserved my move-over cruise and it showed deposit due, which she got extended.  Then the money from the original cruise was moved,  but still showed a balance,  then the price protection dept waved their wand, but there was still a balance due because EZ air flights were more expensive.  Today I did live chat and now it is zero balance.

Well, I am not a happy camper.  I have been patiently waiting for Princess to credit my FCC for this cruise fare and refund my port taxes and insurance back to my credit card.  Nope.  I had $681.00 in FCC from a previously cancelled cruise that was applied to this cruise and I paid an extra $200.04 on my credit card for this Sept 1st Diamond cruise.  Instead of crediting the $200.04 back to my credit card, they have put it into an FCC.  The 681.00 FCC which should have been put back into my FCC account as it is valid until 12/31/2023, still says it was applied to my booking number of the cruise they cancelled.  I used a PVP for this cruise and I have a letter from him stating the correct terms of my selecting option 2 being the $681.00 to be returned to my FCC account and the $200.04 to be refunded to my credit card.  So I just zipped off an email to him to please get this corrected.  Hope he can get it done without me having to start emailing the head office.  He is pretty responsive so I think he will unless the head office gives him some trouble.
