Rare lazydayz Posted August 13, 2022 #51 Share Posted August 13, 2022 When I started cruising people were bringing bungee cords to keep their balcony doors open, duct tape, shoe organizers, etc. we quickly learned none of this was needed. Just plan your clothes wisely to mix and match, limit yourself to two pairs of shoes, bring OTC medicines along with your toiletries and then electronics. Suitcases get unpacked and stored under the bed. Clothes get hung up or placed in drawers or on shelves in the closet. Shoes stay in the closet. Recycle paper as needed. Keep valuables in the safe. Pretty easy. 1

Our room steward is supposed to clean the room not try to work around my crap! Everything gets put away as soon as room/luggage is available. Then each day, stuff is put back in its spot. Pop up hamper for dirty clothes, suitcases under the bed, bathroom stuff in drawers or cabinets (please don’t make the steward work around/have to touch your toiletries). I use one shelf in the closet for dirty laundry, and when that is full I put it back in the suitcase. Makes it easy to pack when cruise is over. I can't stand clutter in the cabin, it's small to begin with.

We'll bring a couple of 13 gallon "tall kitchen" garbage bags for dirty laundry, holds plenty and easy to pack at the end. You can get scented ones if that's an issue.

Retirement togetherness is not all it’s cracked up to be. Obviously your DH is still in training. After 50+ years the answer to all the questions posted on this thread are " I put everything exactly where the boss (Anita) says ". Now all that's left is to enjoy the cruise.
