Port Valet questions

We used the Port Valet in Seattle. We could sign up in advance on the website or on board. You need your flight info. Any charges for bags is then put on your onboard account. Because of the process, they do waive over weight fees. There is a deadline to sign up onboard and was listed in the Dailies. Your special luggage tags and boarding passes will be delivered to your cabin the day before and you set your bags out in the hall the night before. Our bags arrive at our destination with us. There are some restrictions concerning particular airlines and how late your flight leaves.

Thank you for the info much appreciated

If you have some sort of airline status that waives airline bag fees, you note that and don’t get charged.

It is only available in Seattle, and run by the port authority, not cruise line.

We use it every year without problem. Your airline needs to verify your reservation which may take a couple of days, so sign up early.

Our flight leaves at 11:10 in the morning so we can’t use the service. It would have been perfect to have our luggage already at the airport and not be looking for it in the hall. NCL booked our flights so hopefully we will be off the ship early

Just make sure as with any flight you don't put anything valuable in there. When we used it in Seattle last year my bag made it back to JFK, hubby's did not. It went from Seattle to San Diego, Alaska Airlines lied to us and said that TSA held it back in Seattle to investigate something (they did not - the actual luggage tags on it told the truth). Eventually got reunited with us the following night at 10pm via a taxi dropping it off at our house.

Alaska airlines gave us a $100 voucher for our 'trouble' - but that doesn't help when we have no plans to return to the West Coast anytime soon.
