Docking in Merjavik instead of Stavanger

Told yesterday we would be docking in Merjarvik instead of Stavanger, just arrived very grim port. Shuttle buses will take approx 20 mins to go to stavanger. First  one 9.15 have an independent trip booked for 10am from proper cruise terminal but not sure will be able to get on first shuttle to meet it in time 😤🙄🤔🤔

Am surprised too as previously docked in Stavanger and been able to walk off into the town without the need for a shuttle.

just checked online and could not see any other cruise ships in Stavanger that might stop QV docking there.

Was there any explanation ? Hopefully your tour company will be aware and wait for you.

No explanation given. 

Made the first shuttle and now sat on boat waiting to go to pulpit rock. Phew.

What's going on with the cruise quays in Stavanger today is a mystery to me. The Port of Stavanger website lists Queen Victoria at Mekjarvik and Norwegian Star at Strandkaien 16W in Stavanger. But Norwegian Star is actually in Alesund today. Since there are no other cruise ships in Stavanger today, it sounds like this could be one of those "operational reasons" for which we may not get any further explanation.

It is a mystery as the port is dead no boats other then pleasure trip vessels, all quays empty. A strike maybe??
