aj1998 Posted August 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2022 We are taking our first cruise in a long time and first ever on Oceania next June (Holy Land Hallmarks on Vista). We took the option for the free shore excursions and are now in the process of starting to book. We've found at least one example where the end time for the excursion is later than the posted departure time of the ship from port. I tried to search this topic in the forum, but didn't have much luck. How concerned do we need to be with excursion timing for those offered by Oceania? We aren't sure if the excursion timing would be adjusted accordingly to allow proper time to return to the ship or if the timing is correct such that we should not book. It just seems odd to us that it's appearing in the list if it's not really an option. For reference, the excursion is SAL-005 from Salerno (ending time is 5:15, ship departs at 5 pm). Thanks in advance.

Rare pinotlover Posted August 22, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2022 Your cruise is 10 months away. Oceania will figure it out well before sailing.

Thanks in advance. It happens (listed tour time doesn’t jive with listed port time). Depending on how far in advance, you’ve booked, the errant tour may be dropped or time adjusted. For O Life choices that are removed by O, you’d be credited the base value of $100 and you can rebook by other allowable O Life (e.g., <$200). If you’re adding paid tours (enough to meet your cruise’s total minimum for YWYW 25% discount, the O system will auto-adjust which “next most expensive” allowable O Life tour. For a complete explanation of O Life and YWYW tour strategies, search here on CC for my (and other) posts on this topic. AND, whatever you do (with/without a TA in the mix), request a copy of the comprehensive tour cost math that is available as a “pre-purchased excursions” PDF. Should tour things change (particularly when you’re on the ship and O drops a tour), having a copy of the original deal will make your life easier.
