Doing a cruise on the 19th September from Tarragona 9 night's , on the royal app it says we need a pre test but on the "getting ready to cruise" web page it states we don't.

Testing Requirements

All Guests: Required Pre-Cruise Testing

  • All guests age 12 and older who are not vaccinated, or are vaccinated but not up to date, must show a negative result for an antigen test within 24 hours or a PCR test within 72 hours before boarding day
  • Vaccinated guests who are up to date must show a negative result for a PCR or antigen test taken no more than 3 days before boarding day only on sailings 10N and longer. A  test is not required on sailings of 9N or less for guests who are up to date with their vaccination.
  • Guests age 11 and under do not need to complete a pre-cruise test.

Required testing for all guests, regardless of vaccination status, can be completed using any type of PCR or antigen COVID-19 test. It can be professionally proctored at your doctor or drugstore, or it can be a test you administer to yourself at home without supervision.

We are visiting Greece and disembark in Athens , but Greece has no restrictions anymore including for cruise ships according to the Greek Government Website.

Anymore else embarking in Tarragona who might have an idea if we do or don't need a pre test, we are UK residents.

Yesterday there were separate clauses specifically if your ship visited Greece then you still needed to test. Today those clauses on the Spain page have gone.
However on the Italy departure page the Greek test requirements is still there!

perhaps they have forgotten they have Spanish departures that go to Greece 🇬🇷

Confused!

For All Sailings Departing on or after September 5, 2022 from Spain

Guests 12 years of age and older who are not vaccinated or not up to date with their vaccination, must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours before boarding day, or PCR test taken within 72 hours before boarding day, regardless of the duration of their cruise.

Guests who are up to date with their vaccination status must bring a negative test result for a COVID-19 antigen test taken within 24 hours before boarding day, or PCR test taken within 72 hours before boarding day, on sailings that are 10 nights or longer only. Testing is not required for up to date guests on shorter itineraries.

OR

Pre-cruise test requirements for sailings from Italy vary depending on itinerary.

For sailings that visit Greece:

  • All guests age 12 and older, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to present a negative antigen test within 48 hours or a negative PCR test within 72 hours before your sailing.

Makes no sense why we need to test as per there own government website, unless I am missing something 😀

"Welcome to Greece!

From 15 March 2022 onwards, travellers visiting Greece are no longer required to fill out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF).

Additionally, as of Sunday 01.05.2022 and for as long as the epidemiological data allow so, all travellers arriving in Greece, regardless of their country of origin, are no longer required to display a valid certificate of vaccination or recovery from COVID-19, or evidence of a negative test result from SARS-CoV-2 infection (PCR or Rapid Antigen test)."

That doesn't apply to cruise passengers.

Stupid rule, but it's coming from Greek government, not RCI.

I agree but not sure where you read that as per there own website it says

"7. What is the situation with cruise ships?

"As of 14.05.2021, cruise restrictions have been completely removed "

I'm on a cruise starting from Piraeus next month and have been told the need for a pre cruise test is not coming from RCI.

If it isn't coming from the Greek government either then it must be the port authorities.

Whatever, it's utter madness.
