Cruising to Honolulu in March - transportation availability at port

We'll be overnighting in Honolulu on a cruise next March. We want to do some activities on our own that will require transportation from the port. We're planning to visit Waikiki beach for a few hours and then catch a shuttle arranged by a luau company that leaves from the hotels near there, so we need to get there from the port, and get back to the ship later that evening. How is the taxi, Uber and bus service from the port? Where would be the best place to catch them?

What is the apx cost of an Uber to Waikiki beach? I found some prices on older threads but wondered if anyone has done this recently.

Yes, and the estimate said $14 but I have seen reviews of paying $25.00.

Once again, has anyone used Uber recently In Honolulu?

While not going to/from the port, I did take a Uber from my home (Ala Moana Beach) to downtown last Saturday and it was $6. We then took a Uber from downtown (near the port) to a bar in Waikiki and it was $12.

I've never seen it that high for the short distance in Honolulu and I've used Uber a lot there. My guess is whoever said it was $25 may have been in the earlier days of Hawaii reopening when there were a lot less Uber's on the road.We saw some higher prices and longer waits then-- but nothing close in the past few months. 

 

Or it could have been for a higher priced Comfort or UberBlack. The estimate around $14 is going to be at or very close to what you'll see.
