baw53 Posted August 24, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2022 Rough idea ( or exact if known😀) of percentage of passengers on recent sailings.I have just read on another companies FB page that crew numbers are reduced , not necessarily due to covid but recruitment issues.Has this affected any Cunard cruises? I am curious as there appears to be a lot of cabins still available on all grades of cabin on the QV sailing I have booked for December.Do you think the rising cost of living is deterring people from booking or are they waiting for last minute deals? Host Hattie Posted August 24, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2022 There are some recent numbers from Southampton in this thread. Some passengers had their sailings on Queen Elizabeth cancelled earlier in the year due to lack of crew.
exlondoner Posted August 24, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2022 (edited) I don't know when you are going, but would think that December cruises, unless over Christmas, are often not fully booked, for obvious reasons. Canuker Posted August 25, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2022 A notice posted on the QE for its last Alaska cruise of the 2022 season (departure July 11) mentioned a 70% complement of passengers, which it intimated was a in line with an equivalent staff reduction. Interesting that 70% would have been pre-planned, not the result of weak demand, as the cruise was announced as all but "sold out" prior to departure. FYI.
