How crazy is Tampa airport ?

Hello all

My family  has never flown in / out of Tampa. Is it as crazy as Miami or Ft Lauderdale ?They will have carry on’s only…..but thinking for the flight back to Toronto…..can they do a 11:45 am flight after getting off Brilliance of the seas from the Tampa port ?

Or with these crazy days, should they be looking at the other option …4:30 pm.

Probably Delta or Westjet.

There are several current threads on the Florida departures board dealing with getting to the airport. It's apparently about a 15 minute drive, so 11:45am seems quite doable. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/

depending on the date  there is  a 1:30pm flight  (Dec) which would give more wiggle room

With only carry-ons, and you can do self-disembarkation (i.e. don't need to have luggages taken out for you and you wait for your color coded time to get off and go look for your luggage), you can get off soon after they announce, often shortly after 7am.

 

It's a short drive from Tampa port to airport.  So definitely can make 11:45am flight easily.  (Yes we've done Tampa port)
