Does Celebrity allow you to use OBC in advance?

I thought celebrity was showing your OBC and saying you can put packages in advance against your OBC.

I just noticed a charge my credit card for a soda pack.

Did I misunderstand?

You can use OBC that Celebrity provides pre-cruise. When you purchase something in the planner, you have to indicate you want to OBC for the purchase.

 

OBC from a TA won’t be on your account until after boarding.

I’m not sure about packages, but I was able to buy spa treatments in advance with our OBC.

Cancel and repurchase (unless a discount is no longer available)---look for the check box.

I bought a shore excursion for upcoming cruise and by error went to my credit card so cancelled and repurchased using obc. Refund showed up in 3 days. You have to be so careful as I was using my phone to purchase and check box was very small.

I missed at the weekend. Had to call them to fix but still waiting for my cash back.

You can buy everything you like through the cruise planner or by calling them if you want to apply your captains club discount to drink packages and internet. Prices often carry a discount pre-cruise.

I bought packages in advance using OBC and if you change your mind and cancel within the cancelable period they’ll refund your OBC back to your account.

Really, the OBC from my TA shows up and is usable for an upcoming cruise.

Yeah, which is why I tend to not use my phone to purchase stuff. I've got a nice 32" Monitor on my desk that makes seeing all those pesky checkboxes and reading stuff much easier than on my 6.5" phone screen.
