Moosemarty Posted September 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2022 We are doing our first back-to-back cruise, with change o cabins. Can someone tell me how are things are moved to the new cabin. For example. are our hanging items moved with the hangers or do we have to pack everything. We are in a Penthouse so can our Butler handle the move? Also, can we stay on the ship or do we have to disembark? Thanks
Rare LHT28 Posted September 8, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2022 They will take you hanging clothes from the closet Pack up the toiletries & your things in the safe They will instruct you on when/how the move will take place It depends on the turnaround port whether you can stay onboard or not You will receive all the details a few days before the end of the 1st segment
Rare mauibabes Posted September 8, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2022 Other than the nuisance factor of packing a suitcase and unpacking and putting things away again, it is a very easy process. We have done it several times on multi segment cruises and your Butler or Stewards will coordinate and handle everything. If you are staying in the same type stateroom, at least you already know where you will put things and which shelves or drawers, etc. Really easy peasy. You may or may not have to disembark the ship, depends on the Port and Country requirements. The last time we had a room swap on a Med trip, we had to get off the ship and sit in the terminal because the authorities required the ship be devoid of passengers, ONLY Crew. We then decided to take a free shuttle into town and returned later for lunch. That day can be a good time to schedule a tour and return while the new guests finish their Embarkation Process and take a few minutes to unpack and prepare for Happy Hour and a Sail Away. It”s also a perfect time when reboarding to schedule a Spa visit or extra Specialty Restaurant reservation 🤪👍. Remember, Your World, Your Way. Enjoy, Mauibabes
alcpa1 Posted September 9, 2022 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2022 While you may not have full access to your new cabin ask your steward or butler if you can get access to the safety deposit box immediately. It shouldn't be a problem and you won't have to carry off your valuables if you do have to disembark.
Aloha 1 Posted September 10, 2022 #5 Share Posted September 10, 2022 We just did this in July on Nautica. Easy Peasy. Your Butler will handle the moving as maiubabes said. Make sure you stop at reception to get your new cards if you plan to leave the ship that morning. Upon return, you bypass the embark scrum and go directly back on.
