Casino Promo Chips

Can anyone clarify- is there a difference between buying promo chips in advance via Cruise Planner and getting the 10% bonus, or buying chips onboard using NR onboard credit? Will both situations yield promo chips only?

Can you sell promo chips back to the cage and get your nonrefundable OBC back if you're done playing?

From my experience If you buy promo chips they can’t be cashed in.   You  have to play them one time thru the slots or table games. If you win you can cash in the winnings.  You don’t get any “reward Points” for what that is worth.

It a good way to get more bang for your buck.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸

You're going about it the wrong way; don't bother with PROMO chips.  Unless you're gambling a lot you only get one shot at the following so do it for at least the full OBC amount you're trying to "refund", don't try to "test" this for like $20.  Tagging in @canderson who requested these instructions in the past:

1)  Slot machine room charge, most ships allow this right at their slot machine (some ships require you to go to the cashier, request a room charge then they give you a paper voucher) for the OBC amount (or more, great if you want credit card points).  Any casino employee is happy to help you walk through it.

2)  Press "cash out", once the slot machine room charge is complete (or you inserted the cashier voucher) press "cash out" on the slot machine, then bring that cash out voucher to the cashier; you're welcome to hold onto it for another day.

Once you do this, you'll be "flagged" from more gambling for this sailing unless you "convince" a casino manager you made a mistake.  There are no other consequences, if you plan on gambling at all on the sailing wait toward the end of the cruise to do the room charge/cash out.

I'm not a slots player though and if I get stuck trying to play $500 I'll be a very unhappy person.
