Anyone on the Liberty recently?

Was there any specific information you wanted to know about? We were on the August 29 4 day and it was fine. Had one of the best wait staff teams ever in the MDR and for Sea Day Brunch out of 40 cruises. The food was good, always hot for a change! The cabin steward was awesome, and actually talked everyday with the floor supervisor, very nice!  The casino was fun, smoke wasn’t a bad problem, I think the air filtration is better these days. We had a Diamond cocktail party at 5 pm on the last day. There were only 16 diamonds on board but all didn’t attend. Lots of drinks and snacks. Most of the officers and Dustin the cruise director were there, but not the captain. We were on Deck 8 near the elevators in balcony rooms and one interior room. Never noticed any bad odors, I personally smelled weed a time or two and my sense of smell is really bad. Our son and his friend said they smelled it several times. Guess carnival needs to start having the k-9 dogs around during embarkation, not just debarkation. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Another thought, the Liberty is beginning to show her age and is in need of a cosmetic dry dock, lots of rust and standing water on the balcony.

We sailed her in late July.  Stayed on Lido deck.  Never smelled the poop smell anywhere on the ship, but didn't go below the lobby deck.  Smelled a little weed but that is not specific to just the Liberty. 😜 Especially now since it is legal in so many places.

I have been on the Liberty before and didn't have either issues but this time it was really prevalent.  I think the sewage smell was an issue rather than a norm.  Just wondered if anyone else had been on around the same time and maybe knew anything more.  I love the Liberty and the staff overall.

Just off the Liberty Labor Day weekend. Deck 8 balcony. Sewage smell was so horrid we couldn't stomach being out there for 80% of the cruise. Only dissipated when the ship was at speed at sea (not much). Smell rarely permeated the cabin. When it did, Wifey blamed me!

That would mean you were on the cruise after we were. We were on Dec 8 forward by the elevators and none in our party (2 balconies, 1 interior) never noticed any sewer smell. We spent a good bit of time on the balcony both at sea and in port because DH had a back issue and could hardly walk.

And by the way, our grandson and wife were getting off when we were getting on, and they said they had no issues with sewer smells. They were on Deck 7 interior but hardly stayed in the cabin.

We were midship Starboard side. It was unbearable.

We were on Liberty August 26th and had deck 8 aft interior cabin and there were no     Sewage smells on this deck or any of the decks I Visited:  I did notice the marijuana smell one day outside on the Lido deck and then realized we were actually lounging in the smoking section.  Once we moved, I never noticed it again.  It was a fantastic cruise.

I never noticed it, so no compensation. Probably wouldn’t have asked if I did notice it. Can’t answer for Island Dog though.

We were upgraded to the balcony from an inside cabin for free so I felt it was out of place to complain. We just viewed it as a Oceanview and would occasionally check to see if the smell had dissipated. Only twice was it bearable to sit out there.

If I had paid for a balcony I would have complained but honestly I don't think they would have done anything for us.
