Kiwi_cruiser Posted September 15, 2022 #1 Share Posted September 15, 2022 P&O Australia posted this on there Facebook page tonight: Vanuatu, we cant wait to see you! Two P&O cruises from Australia in November will be used to test protocols and procedures in Vanuatu to allow for a broader restart of cruising to the archipelago. This is the first step to getting our ships back in Vanuatu and we are honoured that authorities there wish to work with P&O to achieve a careful resumption of cruising to their beautiful country! Going by the comments from P&O Australia the first cruise to Vanuatu will be 5th November 2022!
Rare arxcards Posted September 15, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2022 That seems so far away, but still within reach I guess. Covid numbers are on the slide everywhere, and I suspect we could even be mask-free by then. A careful resumption is fair, after all, that is what has happened here - 15 weeks down, 3 active ships, protocols still in place since day 1, and thankfully ships are now reporting consistently at green status.

Thanks for that info.👍 That's good to hear, we're booked for that cruise, but would feel better if the statement came from the Vanuatu Gov. There is no indication on their site re cruise ships being allowed in. That cruise also scheduled to two stops in New Caledonia, still no news re allowing cruise ships to dock there yet either. But all is still hopeful.☺️

Our 27th August cruise was 'converted' into a Q'ld coastal one so I hope the November cruise actually gets to Vila.

Only wish that both those governments would officially state they were doing it,😁

All the active ships have all been ship shape for the past few weeks.
