I'm overwhelmed.  We are booked to go on HA Oosterdam Greek Odyssey cruise next summer (July 26 departure from Rome).  We arrive 5 days before cruise departure.  I'm trying to find an air-conditioned AirBnB or VRBO for the 5 of us.  Please provide be with recommendations on areas to stay and any places you have stayed as a family.   We would need sleeping for 5 - pretty much any combination would work.  Just want to be able to walk to a majority of sights and have great AC!

We are staying in a VBRO in Rome in 2 weeks, we are 6 adults, it is advertised as air conditioned, has a washer/dryer, elevator, and is in a good location for walking.

I can report back after the trip if you like

Yes Please!!!! That sounds awesome.

Look in the area of the Piazza Navona. I like to stay in the curve of the River Tiber (so looking at the map to the left of the Piazza Navona.) We stayed once with our two sons and once 2 weeks ago. You can walk to the Vatican, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and more.

Put in some parameters and options should pop up. Good luck!

So we are in a VBRO in Rome right now, it is listed in VBRO as Silver Fern

We checked in yesterday after flying from Washington DC

So the Pros:

1.clean, 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths with step in showers, sleep 7 , but one of the rooms has a queen bed and a single

2. Washer / Dryer which works well we already did a load

3. Elevator

You can easily walk to a small grocery store, a bar, a few restaurants, and a place for gelato,we ate breakfast in a nice local place outside

we did walk to the Colosseum last evening,

there is a nice park near by with outdoor eating

the bus is on the corner

4. working WiFi

the Cons:

1. Outdated, yet clean

2. no A/C but it is cool now, but the summer might be very hot, there are fans in each room.

3. bare bones, and I mean bare, no welcome basket or welcome letter, nothing

we had to make our own beds , we had linen brought to us ,all clean and fresh

no living room , there is a nice kitchen with a big window and a table with 6 chairs, but no place to just sit and hang out

Overall if you want a clean place to sleep it’s good, but not even close to luxurious ,it is definitely in a local residential neighborhood

Well that’s it, I am happy to answer any follow up questions
