Jolly Beach ???

We will be in Antigua in December on Vision of the Seas. We are looking for a nice beautiful calm beach. Does anyone have any information regarding Jolly Beach?

Any other beach recommendations?

Is there free beach access?
Does it have calm water?
Is there a steep drop off?
Are there any amenities available (snacks/drinks/restrooms)?

For one’s requirements, of calm sea, no drop, food, drink and facilities, there is only one option Curtain Bluff with AI, as it has the calmest sea and gentle beach slope.  Contact them direct for availability for one’s dates.

With regard to drop off.

Beach sand removal (drops) appear during a bout of bad/rough/hurricane weather out at sea, which one can’t exactly predict to date in advance.
However, as frequent visitors to the Caribbean know, the bad weather, resulting in the appearance of drops usually happens during “out of season” months.   “Out Of Season” is usually defined as about the end of April to end November, with hurricaneseason (greatly increasing drops) occurring 1st August to 31st October.  One can limit the chance of beach drop by visiting “in season” taking into consideration the 2/3 weeks at the end of the “true season”.

Has anyone visited Jolly Beach recently? We visited this beach  about 5-6 years ago and I don't remember the drop off being too steep at that time. Just wanted to see what the current conditions at Jolly.

Current conditions can change within hours during the Hurricane Season.  Here today gone tomorrow.

If one is adverse to a drop, then the two safer choices are Curtain Bluff (All Inclusive) or a Pool Day (no beach) at Sheer Rocks.
