Does anyone know if NCL POA allows people to disembark at any time on the second day in Maui? We wanted to leave around 3 a.m. to capture the sunrise.

Yes-- the gangway is open 24/7 while docked. They offer sunrise excursions so you might actually have a bottleneck.

To add.... if you can't get reservations for sunrise (they aren't easy to obtain) then you may want to consider the sunset (no reservations needed) and you can hang out afterward for awesome stargazing. Both offer a surreal experiences, but I prefer sunset to avoid both the reservation system and the need to be on the road so early.

Also, don't forget to bring every article of clothing you have with you hahaha. It's never warm, but sometimes it is downright frigid. I'm talking two pair of pants, t-shirt, hoodie, rain jacket on-top, close toes shoes, a blanket, and still my teeth were chattering. If that wind gets blowing it's game on.

Enjoy!
