cruiseryyc Posted September 26, 2022 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2022 However nowhere in the restrictions being lifted, does it mention cruise ships - that is under a totally different Order In Council. At the moment it appears that there are no changes to Covid requirements for cruise travellers.
Worthcruising Posted September 26, 2022 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2022 It does address cruise travel in this government news release. And they are also being dropped. https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/news/2022/09/government-of-canada-to-remove-covid-19-border-and-travel-measures-effective-october-1.html

A set of guidelines will remain to protect passengers and crew, which will align with the approach used in the United States.” however it seems still confusing as certain links still refer to pre testing. Maybe the “links” have not been updated yet???

bcwife76 Posted November 6, 2022 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2022 Wonder when the US will drop their final travel restrictions (we are all vaccinated, but still wonder).
JanDom Posted November 13, 2022 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2022 Does anybody know : coming from Germany to Canada without being vaccinated- not a problem any more. But are we allowed to get on a cruise ship in Vanvouver and go to Alaska ? To get in a cruise ship in Europe is not a problem for us any more, but have the Alaska cruise für may 2023 left (as a rebooking from a rebooking from a rebooking). Don’t want to book flights before knowing if we can get on the ship 😞

Don’t want to book flights before knowing if we can get on the ship 😞 Although the Canadian government has eliminated its COVID protocol for boarding ships in Canada, cruise lines can set their own policies. This summer and autumn we took two voyages on Cunard (one from Vancouver and one from Québec City) and Cunard's requirements were more strict than Canada's that were in effect at that time. May is a long way off. I'm sure I don't have to tell you to keep checking with the cruise line as changes can occur at any time.
JanDom Posted November 13, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2022 Thanks It is a HAL cruise. To get on board you do not have to be vaccinated or tested normally. I wrote them and have to wait for an answer so far. „Problem“ will be to go to US ports….
