Hi,

I need some advice. 
We have an 11:00 o'clock flight from Fort Lauderdale to Toronto. Can we get off the ship and make it to the airport in time to make this flight?

If you can handle your bags by yourself, then chose the option of an early walk off the ship, catch a taxi to the airport and you should be fine.   The airport is a 10-15 minute ride from the cruiseport.   If there are any delays of the ship returning to port on time, then you could run into a problem.

If you can get off by 8 you should make it no problem.

Yes no problem...get off the ship as early as possible, usually sometime after 7am...lots of cabs and shuttles...you will be at the airport before 8am. We had an early afternoon flight...sat on the ship until after 9am until they kicked us off...went straight through disembarkation and got on a shuttle expecting to sit for a while but no...it left straight away and we were at the airport by 10am...and then had to sit for 4 hours.

Unless ship gets in late, there should be no problem.

 

FLL port is close to FLL airport.  Do a self-disembarkation to get off ship early, often can get off shortly after 7am.  Lots of cabs waiting and can take you to airport in less than 15 min.

I have arrived at this port many times and there is usually no delay. I say usually because we did arrive on 2 occasions and we were delayed a couple of hours each time due to “security regulations”. We made our early afternoon flight in the nick of time.

Thanks to everyone who answered my post.  We are seniors and decided we don't need added stress and so we changed our flight booking and are now leaving in the afternoon. Better to be safe.
