Club Class Specialty Dining on Embarkation Day

You know how it goes...I'm sure this has been answered elsewhere.  Sorry about this, I looked...really.

 

I think Club Class cruisers get a complimentary Specialty Dining on the first evening, but maybe only on some ships?

 

Is there a way to make the reservation prior to embarkation?

Suite passengers get a Specialty Dining on embarkation day on cruises longer than 5 days, CC Minis do not.  

 

Yes, you can reserve Specialty Dining through the App.  If you're in a suite, it will show no charge for first night dinner if eligible (>5days) after going through the whole booking process.

Thanks Yoda!  In the app it looks like it's going to charge you, but then at the very last line I'm getting a dining credit for the full amount and the net is zero.

I got off the Royal after a 3 nt cruise 2 weeks ago and we not only had the complimentary suite dinner on the first night, we had a formal night as well.

When we are in a suite we just show up around 8 and are seated

We got it for a 5-night cruise. What Princess says and what they do are often 2 (or 3) different things.

First night specialty dining is a full suite perk, not a Club Class perk.

Perhaps it was one of the booking perks. We have a free specialty dinner on our upcoming Sapphire cruise. I was able to book it through the app.
