Princess on board booking for future cruises.

Hi all, we are cruising next month on the Grand and looking at booking another cruise for next year whilst on board.

For those that have booked a future cruise onboard, is there any advantage to booking with the Cruise consultant as opposed to booking direct on the Princess website?

Cheers Johhno.

Agreed. Don't worry about booking another cruise while you are onboard but do make sure buy the FCDs. Then you can book a cruise anytime in the following two years at your leisure.

You can buy the FCDs through the Medallion app while onboard, or by getting a form from the Future Cruise Sales office and filling it in. Note: it will be charged directly to your credit card on file or supplied, you can't put it on your onboard account.

The main advantage is to buy a Future Cruise Deposit while on board, not necessarily to book a cruise while on board. With a FCC, the $100 pp it costs is your deposit and you are gifted a small amount of on-board credit.

Do they confer the same benefits as the FCC if you actually book a future cruise while on-board?

Exactly the same benefits when you book using the FCD, whether you are on board or not when you book. We have often bought several FCDs at a time because you can only buy them when you are on board.

And if you book a cruise while you're on board (without using FCD), do they give you the extra OBC and lower deposit?

If you book on board without using a FCD, you have to pay the normal deposit and do not get extra OBC (unless there is a deal available at the time).

The $100 you pay for the FCD can be the deposit for a cruise you book, whether it is on board or not. Obviously it means you have a bit more to pay when the balance is due. When you book using a FCD whether it is on board or not), you get the OBC (3-6 nights $15 for inside/o'view; $25 balcony; 7-10 nights $50; 11-16 nights $75 and $100; 17+ nights $125 and $150). You can book on board, but then I suggest you buy an extra FCD for each of you (if you are travelling with a partner). Then you have it when you see a good price/itinerary pop up.

When we booked one of our cruises onboard the sales guy put through a sale of the FCD first then booked the cruise using that FCD so we got the OBC. It was a last minute booking so we had to pay the whole fare when we booked though.

Thanks so much Aus Traveller for clarifying all of that for me! Much appreciated.

Well the OBC was an advantage anyway. Very good way of doing it.
