Is there a good beach near the cruise ship port for snorkeling

I am arriving in Belize Nov 8 and am booked on the Goffs Caye trip but I understand that it is currently closed with it possibly reopening in early November (hopefully before we get there lol.)

As a back up plan I need to know if there is a good beach close to the cruise ship port that you can do some snorkeling from shore.  Please advise if there is and how to get there.  Not wanting to snorkel from a boat trip because my husband is not a good swimmer and panics easily.

If you are tendering outside of Belize city, like most of the cruise ships.... no, there are not nice beaches close by for snorkeling.  The good snorkeling can only be reached by a boat to one of the islands off shore.

If Goff's Caye isn't open when you are there, grab a water taxi to Caye Caulker and see if yuo can snorkel off the Split.  Locals can direct you, but it's basically turn right off the ferry pier and follow the beach to Lazy Lizard.  Snorkeling off the beach won't be as good Goff's Caye or Shark Ray alley, but if hubby panics he can retire to the LL for one of their green drinks!

Thanks ......  Couple more questions...

How often do the water taxis run?

Cost of the water taxi?

How far from the cruise ship pier is Caye Caulker?

Book Your Ferry to Caye Caulker | San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi Limited (belizewatertaxi.com)

Remember times are Belize times not ship times.
