New Specialty Dining Reservation Time

Just an FYI - we have never stayed up to make reservations.  We get on the computer in the morning when we awake and have never had a situation where excursions were not available.  Likewise re dining - have found that if you are willing to share a table - early dining times are usually available.

Same here. In fact we booked a WC just past finial payment and got spots on all but one tour we wanted for all segments. We waitlist that one and before we got to the cruise the wait list cleared. Same with dinner reservations and the cooking classes on our up coming Splendor cruise. Got spots in 2 classes last week for Dec cruise.

it is silly to lose sleep over tours and dinner reservations especially almost a year out. Lots of things change…. Including some tours!

Put yourself in the waitlist. You have almost a year to clear. We just cleared for a neat tour we wanted on a Christmas cruise. It was waitlisted when we booked the cruise 2-3 months ago. Our experience over the last 11 years is we always clear the wait list by the time of the cruise.

i believe there is a restaurant reservation desk that you can go to and ask for any availability. If you don't have a butler I recommend doing so as soon as you get onboard .

Yes, this is a good backup plan if you were unable to make your reservations in advance on the website, or if you don't like the reservations that you were able to make.  However, at least on our recent Mariner voyage, they would not let you make additional reservations (beyond one per specialty restaurant) until at least 2 or 3 days into the cruise.

Whats wrong with 10am in Hawaii? Many Hawaiin tourists on the ships?

Exactly.   I was really just responding to the comment "well why don't they choose 10am instead of 4pm." Again..... as Jimmy Buffett said, "it's Five O'Clock somewhere." 😎

Good info to know. Thanks for the update.

My experience was on Explorer 3 years ago as we haven't been able to cruise since then so maybe things have changed or maybe it depends on the # of passengers or the GM.
