Silhouette (S-Class) Smoking Question

I've read a couple of reviews from guests who have had cabins above the designated smoking area on the Port Side of Deck 5 near the mid-ship elevators complaining about rising smoke and conversations from below at night.

It would seem to me that, if not at port, that the smoke would blow towards the aft as the ship is moving?

However, should there be loud conversation, that could float up to Decks 6, 7, 8, and beyond?!

Any thoughts or experiences with this?

TIA

Smoking is a very hot topics that has been debated ever since CC began.

While I have read many that complain about smoke wafting up from deck 4.   I could see how this might be possible while in port (but often while in port smoking isn't permitted because they are re-fueling the ship).   I just don't see how it would be possible when the ship is sailing that smoke could move upward as oppose to just being blown aft.

As for noise -  I've never been in a room over the smoking area so can't speak to what they may hear but having a partner that smokes and on many instances been out on deck while he smoked -  I have never heard loud noise or even hear conversation 5 feet away from where I stand near the rail.

If you or others think it would bother them then really recommend getting a room on the other side of the ship or Forward.

Agree that underway, smoke from an open deck below isnt an issue. Of course, there are reports of smokers on adjacent verandas and so on. All very isolated situations.

Been on many cruises and really never had noise issues from outside….a few times could hear shouting in the next room through a common wall and  banging doors, and maybe hear workers in the passageways especially with a storage area nearby,  but all are very isolated cases….in most situations!

As a first time Celebrity cruiser and a trashy smoker kid, where can I expect to find the designated smoking section(s) on the Apex next month? As you're not allowed to  smoke in the casino on Celebrity which is where I spend the majority ofy time, my options are going to be very limited I'm sure. I just hope there is more than one option.

This has been my experience too, and I often escape to the "lower" (usually deck 4 or 5) area to escape other ship noise. (I tend toward "noise-induced vertigo" or something close to that.)

@McGarrett5oh, for the past several cruises I've grabbed balcony staterooms exactly 2 decks above smoking and other potential "crowd" areas (fairly near the MDR but notably above outside areas) and have done exceedingly well with that every time. Never a problem with noise or smoke or anything.
