cb at sea Posted March 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2006 We will be in Panama on our next cruise. Since it appears to be only 8 degrees (or so) above the equator, will we be able to see any of the southern hemisphere constellations? I've never seen this question (of course I didn't go through every thread!) If anyone knows the answer, or has a link where I can find this info, I'd sure appreciate it! Thanks! SuzieTrue Posted March 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Having been to the top of Mauna Kea in Hawaii [20 degrees N] I would say yes. I know we saw the Southern Cross.
MargaritaPlease Posted March 6, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2006 Online star charts, like this one, abound. Go scan one for the dates you'll be there.
