Prayers for Belize right now... getting hit hard with hurricane Lisa

So incredibly horrible looking storm!  I know lots of cruise ships are diverting to miss the area this week.  Belize is a poor country that depends of tourism and this is going to hurt for awhile depending on damage.  I know 9 yrs ago we were on a cruise a week after a tropical depression went thru there and all the land excursions were cancelled due to roads washed out making everything outside of Belize City unreachable.  This looks so much worse.

Fingers crossed that there is not much damage and Belize can recover quickly!

Yes going directly over the Blue Hole and Lighthouse reefs. Fortunately the worst winds might miss San Pedro  and Caye Caulker.  But Lisa will definitely clip Belize City and the area just south toward Dangriga .  Even at only 80-85 mph, those winds will wipe out a lot of structures.

Any word on how things are now?  Such a beautiful place, and so very poor in areas.  I hate to see damage to it.

Hearing street flooding, downed power lines, some sheet metal roofs blown off, debris.  But mostly rain.

thanks, hopefully everything recovers quickly.  I  know they depend on these cruise ships and the money.  Uggh, I hate hurricanes.

Any updates?  I read it was supposed to open back up yesterday(Nov 9th).  We have booked a cave tubing excursion for next week and just wondering if things are good to go or not.
