Van to Maho Beach for 8 people

Hi Everyone,

 

I have a small group of friends that want to see Maho Beach without an excursion.  Would we be able to find a van to take us without a reservation?

There are van taxis at the taxi stand in port.  The cost for 2 to Maho used to be $20 then an additional $5 for each additional passenger.  The taxi association hasn't released their new fares, but would expect them to be a bit higher.

Our extended family group of 6 used a taxi at the taxi stand and I believe it was $12.00pp round trip to Maho and back this was late April. We opted to be dropped off in town rather than back to the taxi stand. So easy to do this as we have done it many times.

Round trip? Can you explain how this works? Do they give you tickets to use for the return or the same taxi comes back at a specified time, or what? Thanks for any info.

They put a colored wristband on you when you buy the roundtrip. When you're ready to leave Maho there are lots of the same taxi company waiting out front...you'll be directed to get in one of them...This couldn't be easier. 

 

Tell the driver if you want to be dropped off in town rather than back to the taxi stand. You will of course then have to take the water taxi back to the dock at your own cost.
