Finally got our room swap done earlier, but only because my TA called and spoke to a supervisor. Same room type we had only on the lido deck, which is fine. Don't understand why it was like pulling teeth getting it done. Glad that's over. I honestly don't think anyone will get anywhere unless they call and are persistent. Good luck if you're still waiting.

Glad it worked out for you, but if you booked with Carnival online or with a PVP, they won't / can't touch the booking until your cabins are reassigned. 😎

I just cant comprehend what is taking them so long. If Carnival is waiting on cancellations don't people need a room assignment before cancelling? I know 1 person in this thread has already said they are going to cancel for a Journey cruise at a cheaper cost.

That was us, and we were so glad that we were in position to make the swap. It's pretty much a done deal that our deposits will be applied to our new booking. We haven't officially canceled our original bookings yet though. We are curious to see what cabins they finally give us. 😎

Takes the aggravation away from the waiting game. But will be interesting to see where your rooms would have been. Hope your New cruise works out better for the both of you. Unfortunately i have to await assignment as where taking our Grand Daughters on their first cruise and school wise this date worked for us all.

Yes and that is very messed up. I saw John telling people yesterday that after talking to the beards that you could cancel without penalty. I also saw him tell people to ask for a supervisor. The waiting was so irritating to me. I'm so glad my TA got it done.

thats the problem i am having. i noticed if i cancel online it says i will have to pay a penalty. not sure if i call they will waive that fee

Wait is OVER called my PVP today. He could not understand why 1 cabin had been assigned and 1 was still TBA when they where under the same booking. He got me 2 rooms baloney mid ship but i had to move down to deck 7 from 8 for this to happen. Deck 7 is still surrounded by other cabins so i guess this will work out. Was deck 8 on Magic. AT LEAST IT'S OVER.

That’s a wrong approach they are taking if they are hoping for cancellations because people are still booking. Will have less options as times go by  unless they are going to make suites unavailable for booking if anyone cancels.

I booked my cabin in mid-November, after it was announced that the Venezia would replace the Magic. I chose my stateroom when I booked.

So I think it’s kind of ridiculous that people who were already booked haven’t been assigned rooms or had the option to choose.

it is also ridiculous that some TA and PVP can touch the booking to assign you a cabin yet they are others like me who are still stuck in limo waiting for cabin assignment. both my pvp and carnival call center people told me that cant do anything to my booking until a cabin is assigned to me.

i am also unable to submit any price drops because i don't know what my new cabin category will be. if they upgrade me to a higher cabin category then i may not get price drops, at least i got a free upgrade.

No way I would put up with that. Especially when you know other folks have had this resolved. And not by Carnival doing it - meaning whatever this dedicated team was supposed to be doing. But by your advocate calling and getting it done.

My TA told me that if he hadn't called I probably would have just sat in TBA status like anyone else who booked that way on purpose.

I don't know your sail date but with mine (August), I noticed yesterday that a bunch of categories that were not even showing up on the booking engine are there now. All of the terrazza cabins and the 4J interiors, for example, are all now showing up. Which tells me Carnival was holding these and have released the hold. I was also able to get a price drop of over $300, because I was to price match.

It is totally unfair at this point that anybody is still waiting for a room assignment. John Heald told people days ago that they could also cancel and rebook without penalty.

I originally booked four cabins directly with Carnival the end of October for a sail date of July 13, 2023. 3 inside cabins on deck 7 and one cove balcony on deck 2. I received my updated cabins on November 23 for Venezia. My 3 inside cabins are still on deck 7 and the balcony is on deck 2. Maybe it depends on your sail date.

my sail date is june and august, no cabin assignments so far.still tba

I'm sailing in June and just got my new assignment tonight. The Venezia doesn't have cabins for 5 people, so they split my booking into 2 separate booking numbers and gave me two connecting rooms for the same price. Same deck and category so I have no complaints other than they bizarrely put the second booking in my 13 year old daughters name instead of my wife's, so I'll have to do something about that. Other than that, this is finally straightened out for me at least.

How did you get 2 cabins on baloney midship?😛 Got a chuckle from the typo !

Woohoo. I finally got my assignment for both of my cruises. I went from deck 2 porthole cabin to a regular inside cabin on deck 1. It seems like a downgrade which I expected since the Venezia does not have portholes.

Now I can submit some price drops now that I know my cabin category

I finally got my room assignments too.  I had spa balconies on the Magic for my back to back cruises in July.  So they assigned me balconies on 12 which is near the spa.  However, the Venezia doesn't have a thermal spa so a spa room is kind of useless to me.  When I asked about a balcony on 7 or 8 instead, my TA called Carnival and they said they didn't have any balconies to assign me the same room for the back to back.  So now I have a room on 12, but at least it's the same room for both cruises.  I'm not too happy to have paid a higher price on the Magic for a thermal spa room to get a balcony on the Venezia with no thermal spa.  Oh well.  It's still a cruise.

Okay gang! We got our new cabin assignments for our B2B cruises 9/8 & 9/16 yesterday as well. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I was going to cancel these bookings anyway, as we have booked the 15 day journeys cruise leaving on 9/29. Nearly two years ago we booked the same bowling alley balcony (6499) for both legs of our B2B. On the Venezia, 6499 is the exact same cabin, in the same exact location as we had on the Magic, but on the Venezia it is considered a premium balcony cabin. Which brings me to my first complaint. Before booting us out of our cabin, how about a call giving us the option to pay the difference and keep the cabin. Nope, probably never gave it a thought.

Now, here is what they gave us. For the first cruise they gave us a regular balcony (6485) and it is a connecting cabin, something we never, ever book. I guess you can surmise that of course they didn't give us the same cabin for the second leg, even though the cruises were linked as B2B. They moved us from the back of the ship all the way up to the front of the ship into a regular balcony cabin (6243), which was also a connecting cabin. I guess most of the balcony cabins were pretty much gone if all that was left were connecting cabins.

Called my PVP this morning, and he was easily able to get both of my non - refundable deposits transferred to my new booking which really is all that I wanted at this point. He then officially cancelled the two bookings. He told me that at this point, he wouldn't have been able to book me in the same cabin for both legs anyway, and that's because they opened bookings up before everyone was reassigned. Carnival really screwed the pooch on this ship switch.

So for us it all ends well, but what if we were locked into those two dates like many people are. I would have been livid, and can't blame people for their frustration. I Hope it works out for all involved.

yes they did. i hate how carnival is handling this process. i just had a bad experience with a price adjustment that caused my booking to get canceled because my old deposit from back in the day never fully transferred over causing my booking to get cancel due to a lack of deposit. That was not a fun call to make to carnival to get that fixed

i also don't like how they downgrade me from a window porthole to a regular interior cabin. i don't mind interior cabins and that is my prefer cabin anyways but i thought they will at least upgrade me a regular oceanview.

Jamman you used your head and switched to one journey and saved money. SO much better than leaving Carnival to their own devices with this. I don't understand how they couldn't have called this so wrong.

We had a cabin that was also literally in the same exact spot on Venezia as Magic. Nonetheless, they still moved us up several decks. It turned out fine since it was the same cabin category, but it still makes no sense. And thankfully we weren't booked with other people. I was able to get a decent price drop just in time cause the rates have gone up by hundreds on my sailing. Anyway, enjoy Venezia. We are fellow Garden State cruisers!

I’m glad you don’t have to go through that headache. They moved me from forward side by side connecting balconies (not connecting cabins) on deck 7 to two rooms far from each other on deck 6. They told me that in order to put me on deck 7 it would cost me more. Anyways, I was able to get booked in 6454 and 6458. Looking at the deck plan, 6454 is above the Gondola Lounge but 6458 is above 5202 a Terrazza room. I’ve never been above or below anything other than rooms before. That’s why I had booked 7 on Magic. Not sure what goes on in the Gondola Lounge late at nights.

You can find your room location below:

I hope they work out for you. Carnival allowing bookings before the full reassignment sure screwed a lot of us the had special request ( 2 rooms together or same room B2B )

I know you will enjoy your Journey cruise and put all this in the junk pile.

got my room assignment as well.  they moved me allll the way to the front of the ship.  now, i have no idea why i have never booked forward cabins before, but i've always done midship or aft.   please tell me that i'm going to LOVE forward.  i am literally the 4th or 5th balcony from the bridge (or the grayed out bridge looking thing on deck 8 😎 at the front).  should i keep this or beg to be moved back?
