3rd Elation cruise this year and really enjoy the smaller ship and I enjoy the Bahamas

DH and I are this close to booking a March Elation (we live in Greenville SC and the dates in JAX are better than Charleston).  I don't know much about beach time in the Bahamas, though and I'm not sure we should even get off the ship.  What do like to do there?

We ported at Nassau and Princess Cay.  Walked up to John Watling's Distillery for the BEST pina coladas at a pink plantation style house.  Walked down hill to the British Colonial where we had day passes ($25/person, I think) and relaxed at a quiet beach.  Princess Cay, I rented a cabana and we snorkeled up a storm, saw tons of colorful fish and had a great day.  For more Bahama info, I would check out the Bahama Port threads in CC.  I'm leaving on Magic in 4 days for 8 days in the Caribbean!!

Woo hoo!!😎

they seem so poorly visited. Maybe bc Bahamas is so routine?

Thank you for your info. I’m interested in the British Colonial you mention. Did you need to contact them prior to travel?

I’m looking forward to trying Elation. It will be the smallest and oldest ship I sail on, and I think I may like that.

I love Elation. I live twenty minutes away. No flights! Parking-lot cheap, self-service and a two minute short walk to the ship. I love the food, and although I am a picky eater,  I stuff myself at their buffet. They have the BEST cakes at sea. Good entertainment and a great casino that's just fun, fun, fun. Prices are great, ranging from free to almost-free, once you get established in the casino. What more can you ask for!

Yum!

'Yum' Is an understatement ! LOLLL ! YUMMeeeeeee Is better !! We (wife and I) did a dream Xmas cruise two years before COVID (2018) and ALL of the buffet cakes were Christmas decorated ! Those young girls cutting and serving big slices of the cake were SO proud of those cakes! (my wife took pictures of each cake and the girls would 'pose ' behind each of their cake) they'd have the biggest smile. 🙂

I am glad you noticed the girls behind the cakes.  ❤
