What type of detergents should I bring for the onboard self serve laundry?

We have always taken pods in a ziplock and they have never popped on us. I break one open if I need to hand wash anything in the cabin, and while that is a waste of the pod, taking pods in a ziploc takes up less space than a container, or I've convinced myself that it does.

Or, they unsuccessfully use a medallion for purchase...

Vending machines are located in the laundry room. You use your medallion to charge them to your account, but sometimes the machines run out of tokens or the machine doesn't work. In this case you can purchase tokens, charged to your account, at the customer services counter.
