Pre-Purchased Slot Packages - Solstice

We aren't big gamblers but because of the amount of OBC decided to purchase a couple Slot Packages.

The package says that the Free Pull will be credited to your card.    Curious if anyone knows how this works on Solstice (not revolutionized at all and old slots).    The slots don't have the reader and ability to access your account.    They have a slot that you put your card in and then have to remember to take it out and bring with your.

To transfer money from card you have to go to the cashier and they sell $100 casino slips.

Hey Jim,

Anytime we have bought the slot packages we have had to go to cashier and they transfer it to your card.  This was on Equinox in March and October.

Doesn't work on Solstice as the ship hasn't been revolutionized. You need to pick up physical paper vouchers at the counter.

I suggest to NOT buy the packages and instead just ask the cashier to charge slot cash to your room account. You can then cash that voucher out entirely and don't even have to to play (spin it once it you want).

I did that on the current cruise and actually ran our 600 up to 750 before cashing out.

The only reason I purchased the packages is that when you Pre-Purchase you receive a 10% free play bonus.   My understanding is that for the free play you have to play it but can cash out the win.    As antiquated as the slots are on Equinox I can't imagine they would have the technology to track.   Maybe just put it in a machine and then just cash out or play .

I 'll come back a report my finding on Sunday.

Yes exactly but here is the drag, for the 10% extra you're basically turning the entirety of your OBC into promotional "mandatory play" funds rather than cash funds that you can withdraw at anytime. There is also something in the fine print of BCC saying that promotional credit officially doesn't earn any points but many have reported they did receive points.

I tried to look at many angles to see if 10% massively increase your odds on cruise ship slots but while nice, I still can't get there. If I could buy large amounts of slot credit let's say for a Vegas (land based) casino I'd be all ears as the slots are regulated.

You may not be able to charge to your onboard account directly at a slot machine but you can transfer promotional credit at a machine. We were on Solstice 2 weeks ago and that’s how the casino gave every passenger $5 in free play one night. I’m sure the pre-bought slot play will be loaded to your Personal Banker account which you’ll then be able to transfer to a slot and that’s how they’ll ensure you play the entire $55.

I found out that you go to the Cashier and she transfers it to your card and gives you instructions on how to redeem from card.

As others said the entire amount becomes promotional play.    Also found if you transferred it to the machine you can't transfer it off and have to play the amount you put on the individual machine.    Definitely don't recommend.  Others may disagree.

It's in the cruise planner "Plan my cruise".   I think they are generally lumped in with the internet packages.

Thanks - After looking and going through pretty much everything I could purchase, still no luck. I am thinking it may be a Canadian site thing. It is not unusual for things offered to US residents not be available to non-US residents. We should be able to purchase them on board though.

From the offer I received:

Table Play Casino Chip Offer (“Offer”) applies to purchases made via Cruise Planner no less than three days prior to cruise departure. For every pre-cruise package purchase, a guest will receive 10% added value. Offer limit up to 10 per person per sailing.

Better than in May when they gave me 30 vouchers of various denomination to feed my credits into the machine (room charge).

Agree 100%, it's not worth it.

I have just been buying $300 worth of slots from my room key.   They give me 3 $100 coupons to feed into the machine.     I just feed them all into the machine and when done playing I hit the cashout and get a certificate for the complete amount.   Later in the day when Iain has done the same we combine his along with mine so we only have one coupon to keep track of.   Even when our account is is in negative territory (charged more than OBC)  it is a win as we get 3x points on Chase (coded as Celebrity Travel).

So far on both cruises we have been in positive territory when we cash out near the end of the cruise.

Jim,

I have learned SO MUCH from you and Iain; thank you! I am a casino player; sapphire +, so I dearly treasure my casino tier points. If I pre-purchase a ‘package’ with an additional 10% as a perk, I get NO casino tier points for the entire cost of the package or for ANY of my slot machine activity on that package. Additionally, once I put a voucher from that package into a machine, i cannot change machines until i play out the whole thing…bummer…although every time you win, you can cash out the win…still a PIA.

I take out $2000-$3000/day and charge it to the room account, then deposit it immediately after the cruise and pay off the card. An easy 45,000 Chase points (or Amex when using the Green Card) per cruise. 🙂

Thanks for sharing.    Another thing I didn't know about.  I couldn’t take the money once I put on machine.

I learned what you just said.   I didn't get a voucher.   Instead they loaded it onto my card and gave me a card with instructions.
