Gratuities

It can be but it is automatically added to your account so you will have to speak to Guest Services to adjust it. We have never done so (the shipboard credit our travel agent provides more than covers the gratuities) so I can advise as to how difficult or how much push back one gets when requesting to do so.

I just want to confirm that the "recommended" gratuity amount per person is, in fact, just a suggestion, and can be raised or lowered before departing the ship.

Raised, lowered or deleted.  Just stop by Guest Service and ask.  They should do whatever you request, no questions asked.

Guests in the UK, Australia  and NZ have gratuities included on their cruise fare.
