Ncl loyalty program

We're gold level, will become platinum before our next cruise is over. We have never used any of the loyalty program things. Can anyone tell me if I should be? We we're mostly wondering about the representative and what they do. Or the party. Is it worth it? And has anyone ever gotten a pin?

The worthwhile benefits start to kick in at Platinum (priority boarding, free meals, laundry).

You can get the pins from the cruise next desk and they will give you previous (silver & bronze), the ships pins were discontinued a long time ago, to my surprise they had bags of them on the Breakaway 3 weeks ago, not seen a ships pin for years before that.

In fact, you don't become Platinum UNTIL your cruise is over, because, points are posted to your account(s) after the cruise is completed!

As for your questions, I highly recommend that you take a look at:

https://www.ncl.com/latitudes-rewards-program (and/or visit the Cruise Next Desk onboard)!

The importance of these perks can be vary vastly for each individual.

I always make sure to get my discount at the shops when I buy a souvenir!

I am not big into the ship pictures or excursions but that discount is also nice!

My upcoming cruise we will be using the laundry discount as we will be coming from a convention and will need to have some laundry done while on ship.

And I love collecting the lapel pins, haven't been on a cruise for several years now so not sure if they are still available or not

They started doing latitudes pins after covid, I got them on Epic in February.

the discounts on excursions and on-ship shopping are incremental but welcome when the costs of everything are constantly creeping ever upwards.

As a Gold member you get Priority Tender Tickets.  I don’t actually know how it works but if your upcoming cruise has any tender ports I would stop by the CruiseNext desk on embarkation day and inquire.

All this really means is that you don’t have to collect a timed ticket. You can join the queue whenever you want.

The key thing though is that all you are doing is joining the queue. You don’t go to the front of the queue.

Basically it saves you having to take the time getting a ticket.

Edit: before people come along saying that they got better than this from the tender perk, yes, so have I once or twice but that was a bonus.

We received pins even before we were Platinum. A cute little souvenir.

A couple of dinners in the specialty restaurants is probably the nicest bonus. The only time we've used our laundry benefit has been on back-to-back cruises. Otherwise, it's wash in the sink, dry using the hair dryer

We never really paid much attention to our status until we reached platinum. That's where (for us) the real true perks kicked in. The bonus specialty dining credits always get used. For cruises >7 days, that laundry perk is great to keep the suitcase empty for room to bring home liquor and wine from our travels.

As for the parties and such, if we're free we try to attend but it's not a priority for us since we always have the drink package. If you're not big drinkers and skip the package, the parties are a decent way to get in a few freebies I suppose and meet other folks who enjoy sailing on NCL.

It's also helpful to have some of the priority type perks so when we don't travel in Haven we'll still get a few of those level type perks. It all depends on what is important to you.

Thanks everyone. That's what I was looking for. I knew I didn't get leveled up until after the cruise. Which is a bummer but oh well. Has anyone used the representative? Are they just to tell you what your perks are? Looking forward to free laundrey and extra specialty dining. Also, our next cruise, after this one, is Venice so the tender ticket will be nice.

Just off the Joy. Gold and above were directed to go to the Q restaurant where your latitude status was verified and then an NCL employee escorted us directly to a tender, bypassing the queue via a different hallway.  WorkEd well and there zero arguments about joining an already formed queue

I agree with everything above. Once you hit Platinum... you're all set. I am Ambassador and honestly my perks are not much different than Platimum (besides a "free not so free" free at sea perkless, latitude pointless,  cruise) and a gift, which is a tote bag. Don't rush to move up after hitting Platinum!
