Bestbubba Posted January 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2023 Our last MSC cruise was pre covid, on the Musica from Rio to Venice. A really great cruise. Every evening in the dining room, a different risotto was offered as one of the starters. They were delicious. I've seen lots of menus posted lately and no risotto on any of them. We're sailing on Divina in May, the TA to Barcelona and my dear husband was looking forward to enjoying them once again. Is he going to be disappointed? Its certainly not that big a deal but seemed strange on an Italian cruise line. Can anyone confirm one way or the other? Many thanks and warmest wishes for a happy new year. Rare KKB Posted January 2, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2023 I'm not surprised...risotto is VERY difficult to do right on a large scale. Any time I've ordered it on a cruise it is more like a rice pilaf...
SirWolf Posted January 2, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2023 (edited) Risotto in multiple variations was on dinner menu .. Yacht Club Restaurant ~ MSC Grandiosa ~ Med Cruise ~ October 2022 Risotto was under main courses but we ordered sometimes meat entrees and split portions of risotto. Rare mawvkysc Posted January 3, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2023 I think it depends what geographic area you are sailing in.

In YC there were risottos on the menu all two days or so.
Rare mawvkysc Posted January 3, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2023 On Italian Night I had the Ossobuco. It was so good. I’m pretty sure the side was risotto. Whatever it was that rice was creamy and delicious. So maybe the OP can at least enjoy it that night.
shipgeeks Posted January 3, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2023 I had risotto as a main, not appetizer. It was usually the vegetarian selection, as I recall.
