robotpony Posted January 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2023 There are also uncharge sit down restaurants (Pinnacle, Rudy's, Canaletto's, Tamarind, and Nami) and quick service locations (Dive In, and the NY Pizzeria).

"uncharge"? Extra charge is what you meant.

I believe @robotpony meant UPcharge restaurants. These restaurants are not available on all ships. The Pinnacle, Canaletto and Dive In are available on all ships The Tamarind and Nami are only available on Signature (Eurodam & Nieuw Amsterdam) and Pinnacle class ships ( Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam & Rotterdam). Only Pinnacle ships have Rudy's and the Grand Dutch Cafe. There is no charge for food at the Dive In, Ny Pizzeria or Grand Cafe. I thought this only happens when you gamble a certain amount of money on one or more cruises, would HAL give you an offer for a free cruise. Perhaps HAL is desperate for customers and is buying names of gamblers from land casinos or even competing cruise lines?
doone Posted January 4, 2023 #8 Share Posted January 4, 2023 I have never received a casino offer but know several folks who have “won”a free cruise on HAL, NCL and Carnival from land based casinos. Free makes me laugh, they always spend almost as much money with upgraded inside cabins, flights and spending onboard than I do just booking an inside cabin on a HAL ship…..to each their own……

Basically pay taxes and svc charges and you're all set. Any other spending is your choice (travel protection, Wifi, casino play, upcharge dining, excursions, etc.). The deals are really awesome if you sail solo as you only pay taxes for one, no single supplement. NCL let's you have to promos too. I haven't booked with HAL yet, so not sure if current promotions are also available for certificate users. HAL is also offering me a balcony, usually NCL offers me an inside and I have to pay to upgrade to balcony, ouch, but still less than if I outright booked paid the full rate for the cabin.

We're sticking with an inside room on our next Free cruise. We may get the HIA package, but it still puts the total cost at well under $100/person/day.
