We have broken quite a few, replaced them, and given up on them and used more durable stemware. thebutlerdidit Posted January 7, 2023 #32 Share Posted January 7, 2023 In October on the Equinox we were served wine in Riedel glasses in Blu. My son was the one who noticed. I was surprised!

A lot of vinophiles will say nay nay to stemless, but if you can get past that part, no more worries about the fragile stemmed glasses.

I recently bought a couple rather expensive ones that were marked down as two were missing from box.

Also a beautiful Reidel decanter which I rarely use.

We were disappointed that we were not given glasses to take away with us, but it was explained that many folk have had them break on their journey home - wouldn't have been an issue to us since we drove to the port. We received the voucher for free glasses (4 glasses each), but had to pay for shipping. Lovely glasses, but I'm not sure they were worth the shipping fee. At least you were able to redeem the certificate. It kept telling me "invalid credit card" every time I tried to pay - no matter what card I used. Yes I got hooked on them the same way so took the workshop just for the glasses. This was 10 years ago and I would have had to pay $150 for the tasting set outside of the class.

I saw one glass in a box a few days ago marked down to $90. No thanks.
CaroleSS Posted January 13, 2023 #50 Share Posted January 13, 2023 I understand that many wash their glasses in the dishwasher and I even posted a link that says you can, but *I* choose to hand wash as I have had some chip in the dishwasher. YMMV
