Did you have to disembark and get back on?

Yes, never takes long.  They also make arrangements for anyone who wants to head off earlier than the planned back to back processing time

Is it possible to drop the luggage and then return later for the check in time?

how early are you talking, if your checkin time is 4pm and you turn up at 2pm then that would probably work ok, if your checkin time is 2pm and you turn up at 11am there may be no luggage porters around that early (cases were taken by porters outside the terminal)

Azamara Miami office say those embarking from Lima on 2/12/23 will need a negative Covid Test to board. Would someone on Onward now confirm or refute this by asking the current onboard staff and what they are aware of for the need for testing Lima passengers boarding? Peru does not require a test so it's hard to understand why Azamara would require it!

It also says testing is required in Lima on Azamara’s website

We were on the Dec. 22 Onward cruise. If a port requires proof, you will be asked during boarding
