Larnach Castle vs Olveston Historic House Dunedin

We have been to Dunedin before and did a tour, however, have not done either Larnach Castle or Olveston Historic House, for anyone who has done these is there a preference, Olveston Historic House I believe is in Dunedin, however, Larnach Castle I believe is a fair distance out, also looks like Larnach Castle is dearer, happy for any recommendations/feedback, many thanks.

Personally I would go to Olveston.  The family history behind the home is wonderful.  Larnach Castle is a lot more expensive and is not quite as intimate.
