Blue Chip cabin and Moveup

No upgraded points for captain's club if you do a move up.  I don't think you can moveup if the cabin was totally free. You can if you have partially paid for the cruise.  But you can go to the moveup page and see if you are eligible.

Anyone know if you can use moveup on a Blue chip cabin??

Also if you do get the upgrade, do you get the upgraded points per night for Captains club.

MoveUp is available for Blue Chip comp bookings.  However, you have to email the MoveUp support email (CelebrityMoveUp@Celebrity.com) stating that you'd like to see the upgrade bid offers for your reservation.  It's not turned on or set up automatically for BCC comps for whatever reason.  I've done this twice now.

Peteymil is correct that the CC points that you receive, in addition to the perks, are based on the original cabin booked and not the one you would be upgraded to via MoveUp.

You can also call BCC and see if they can directly upgrade your cabin for a discounted price.  In this case, you would receive the CC points and perks associated with that upgraded room.

Absolutely, just some FYIs...

-I just email them with "When I try to bid on booking #XXXXXX it says it's not eligible, could you please make it eligible?"

- However you ask, be sure to include your booking number

- Usually takes 1-2 weeks to receive a reply from the moveup email address

-Don't bother with anyone else at X, only that dept seems to be able to make your booking eligible

Worked perfectly.

Thanks a bunch!

Only took about 24 hours to get a response and another 24 hours to get the email offer.

We are leaving on 1/23 a Blue Chip comp offer.  All inclusive not included

has anyone been able to add the all inclusive.  I tried calling tonight— but found out there’s another number I have to call— the Blue Chip number— and they were already close.  I may not be able to call until Thursday.
Hopefully there is a deal for all inclusive drink/tips/wifi

AI will be way more expensive then adding perks a la cart.  The BCC also has a 15% discount on the drink package

This is my latest experience with a Blue Chip offer.

Got an email yesterday for a free veranda. There was a list of cruises and some were on the E class ships.

Called this morning and waited on hold maybe 5 minutes. I was interested in the Edge cruise leaving April 7 for 10 nights.  Was given an IV on deck 9 for a total of $331.70(taxes and port fees.)

When I asked about upgrading to Aqua, which I've done the past 4 cruises for $10. or $20. per person, per day, the agent said they are no longer doing this, and the cost to upgrade to Aqua would be $1881.

Since it would be hard to squeeze in another cruise right now, we'll wait and see if they still send me offers later on this year.

Thanks for sharing…Figure it would only be a matter of time when the  $10/20 upgrades would disappear but it’s still disappointing to hear it actually happened

They must have realized that nearly giving away some of their top selling product to folks who haven't gambled in years wasn't working out well for them 😂

Going on a Blue Chip comp cruise on the Solstice in a few weeks. I called Blue Chip to add a beverage package, and per the rep they're only discounting bev packages based on Captain's Club level now.

We're in a comp verandah, and had the same experience. AQ was a $1,300 upgrade, which I politely declined.

TBH, I'm fascinated to know what algorithm have targeted my husband and I. We're dual income, no kids, and cruise regularly. We've also done one or two trips to Vegas, and I go for work on the Strip sporadically.

We are not gamblers in any real sense. We'll budget around $100 each in casino loss for a seven day cruise. We also tend to walk away once we have any level of winnings, unless we're playing roulette and being social. If I'm in Vegas for work, I'll bounce around and play some slots if I have downtime, but again, very low level stuff.

Since the restart, we've been targeted for comp casino cruises by both Carnival & Celebrity... and we can't figure out why! Is it because they're trying to cultivate new high-level gamblers? Some sort of formula in a database we'll never know about? Just trying to fill up the ship? A combination of all of these?

I'm not complaining, but still can't figure out why!

Really makes you wonder who approved $10-$20/night upgrades and why.  Pretty much every sailing I’ve been on but the NYE eve one was reduced capacity and AQ-suites was always sold out so it would appear they didn’t have problems filling them most likely due to MoveUp.  You’d imagine as a gift from X, instead of the upgrade, an offer of $500 in matched play would be win-win for both X and gamblers

Does he gamble at all in any MGM reward casinos?

We both have MGM rewards cards, but again, low level gamblers. Our trips to Vegas have been much more clubs, bars, brunches, dinners, shows focused... not hours and hours at the slots or tables. Maybe they're taking non-gambling revenue into account?

X has a parntership with the MGM and therefore X can offer quarterly offers based on MGM play but others have claimed to received an offer without any gambling, anywhere

I recently inquired about upgraded rooms on a 7 day comped cruise. They replied via email with;

"to C2 Concierge Class, $99 additional
to A2 Aqua Class, $1680"

Unclear if it was per person or total, and if A2 was AI.

I am considering Concierge only in that the increased points will boost us to Elite on the following cruise.

It is my understanding if we do Move Up they will not include the additional points.
