When will they correct language for covid testing on Enhanced Voyages?

The language relating to covid testing on Enhanced Voyages needs to be corrected.  It has and still is causing much confusion since the directive says two opposite things.  First sentence says "must be medically observed" and last sentence says "medically observed OR self- administered and take a picture of results."  Since testing has been cancelled for most cruises except Enhanced Voyages, Princess needs to clarify just what exactly they need.

That is where the confusing language is  lol

My cruise shows no test for vaccinated and medically observed test for non vaccinated.     This is for a canal cruise including Colombia

Our March TA FLL to Barcelona is on the enhanced list, and this is what the cruise health tool says:

Testing Requirements

  • All guests ages 5 and older are required to take a medically observed COVID-19 Test.
    • PCR or medically observed Antigen COVID-19 test taken within 3 days prior to embarkation, or
    • Medically observed or self-administered antigen home test taken within 3 days before embarkation.

So does it have to be "medically observed" as the first sentence says, or "medically observed or self-administered antigen home test" like the last sentence says?

The app says self-administered with photo proof of the result.  And the Cruise Health FAQ says "For voyages departing from the U.S., Chile and Vancouver, all guests 5 and older must provide a medically assisted or self-administered Antigen home test or PCR within 3 days before departure."

Clear as mud.

For the enhanced_Australia - The pcr test must be medically given/observed.  That is within 48 hours.  The antigen test must be taken within 24 hours and can be medically observed as you stated OR self administered which is where you must take the picture with id and date/time.  You don't do both and I believe the wording has stayed constant since 12/2?

Just plug your voyage number into the online health tool on line and it should give you specifics for your individual cruise

Yes, it is confusing and general information for enhanced voyages.

Even Princess management has given conflicting information.

Just update it.  The App, the CruiseHealth Tool, the website Q&A and the cruise personalizer all are conflicting.

Thank you for this thread.

Okay, the Q&A did say

all guests are required to

have a medically assisted test.

They just updated it today Jan 16, 23.

Now, it reads the same as the cruiseHealth tool.

So, are self administered tests accepted?

Every one seems to have a different answer at Princess. Unreal.

It says:

UPDATED: What are the testing requirements for enhanced guidelines voyages?

For voyages departing from the U.S., Chile and Vancouver, all guests 5 and older must provide a medically assisted or self-administeredAntigen home test or PCR within 3 days before departure.

For voyages departing, arriving or visiting Australia, all guests 2 and older must provide medically assisted or self-administered Antigen home test within 24 hours or PCR within 48 hours.

Heres the CruiseHealth Tool:

Testing Requirements

  • All guests ages 5 and older are required to take a medically observed COVID-19 Test.
    • PCR or medically observed Antigen COVID-19 test taken within 3 days prior to embarkation, or
    • Medically observed or self-administered antigen home test taken within 3 days before embarkation.

You are welcome Pac.  So many opinions and no positive answers.  Well, since it was just updated today, that helps a little but still a bit muddy.  LOL  Maybe by March they will have it sorted out.

You are referring to Australia.  That language is a bit different than the other Enhanced Voyages.

Well, they didn’t clarify anything on the website.

My opinion. We have a choice of either one.  The wording stated “or”.

But.....the sentence just above the "or" does not give you an option.  It just says "are required to take a medically observed test" so which sentence is correct???????

Exactly….then they need to delete the first sentence.

I don't understand why this wording doesn't seem to confuse some people.  The first and second sentence are basically the opposite.  lol

I think anyone relying on a self administered test is running the risk of missing the boat

You get your test results in 15 minutes at the comfort of your home or hotel, if you used self administered. I done it on our Australia cruise. Then you downloaded the results to your App.
If you use PCR medically observed, the test results could take up to 3 days at a cost of $50-$100 (approximately ).

If you use RAT medically observed, the test results will be ready in 1-2 hours. You will received the results by e-mail. Cost $50-$75 (approximately).

I’m sorry it’s clear to me. We all have different opinions. I do agreed it could be better worded.

Or you get the medically observed online. 15 minutes, $65, easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
