LindaAL Posted January 20, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2023 HI - we are leaving from Terminal 2 on a Princess cruise, and it is the only ship going out that day. I have seen cruisers mentioning arriving at the port about 9:30, and waiting in line until the cruise line allows them to start boarding. Have people been doing this? Any problem with doing it? We are in the first group "A", that are to board between 11-11:30. Thanks for any input/help! LindaAL

However, anyone arriving after boarding has commenced will process thru check-in and then head right on board. #2 - Terminal check-ins begin well ahead of 11am (pretty much 10am-ish). Once checked-in, early arrivees wait in the terminal for boarding to commence. #3 - Boarding anywhere is not very likely to occur before 11am. Plan on 11am as earliest start and most often it is sometime between 11 and 11:30. #4 - The times above can be pushed back if unusual circumstances dictate a delayed schedule. #5 - The Arrival Groups in Princess App mean virtually nothing. Come to terminal and check-in when convenient for you. I have been know to show up at T2 by 9:30am, or a few mins ahead of that in order to ensure being on board first, or among the first. There is always a small number that are going to be there early like that for similar reasons.
MissP22 Posted January 20, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Just realize that until you're in the terminal you'll be standing in line with no place to sit down. It can make for a tiring morning just waiting to board the ship.
palolake Posted January 20, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2023 Of course every cruise will be different, but two days ago, we watched new cruisers allowed in at 9:30.
LindaAL Posted January 21, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Thank you for the information! We will probably try to arrive early, and standing is okay for us - we haven't cruised since 2019, so DH will do anything to get on early!! Again, thank you for the input!! Jaymuxman Posted January 21, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2023 Getting on really early doesn't usually buy you too much! Rooms probably won't be ready

Rooms probably won't be ready Unless you want to book the Sanctuary. That’s our reason for wanting to be early to board.

MissP22 Posted January 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2023 Even if the rooms aren't ready, you can always drop off your luggage & continue on to lunch.
