First time with Ponant

We'll be going on Le Jacques Cartier Venice and Croatia in August.  We booked with Tauck, but this will be our first time on a Ponant ship.  Are we still eligible for the first time discount?

Also, we'll be flying to Venice a day early and are looking for suggestions for non-touristy restaurants.  Any suggestions?

Our first Ponant cruise was a similar partial-charter (with Backroads).  Since you booked with Tauck your fare is set by them (and paid to them), so you don't get any discounts or benefits from Ponant.

One trick:  Ponant's loyalty program gives you the benefits of the next level when you book the qualifying cruise – so if you book a cruise directly with Ponant before this Tauck trip, that would be number 2 and you should get the benefits of Major level even on the Tauck cruise [$50 OBC per person and free laundry].  You might also get 5% off the price of the second cruise – and our travel agent convinced them that we should get the First Cruise $250 Shipboard Credit [$250 OBC per person] applied to that second cruise.  😀
