Tender Update in Cabo

We are sailing NCL from LA and are currently in Cabo. Tendering commenced at 11 AM. There was a reported delay, but we know tendering started before 11:30, so the delay was not substantial. 
 

We have no excursions planned so we aren’t personally impacted negatively and we are enjoying a less crowded ship while we wait for general/open tendering. It is now 1:40 PM. More than 2 hours into this and tendering is still working to accommodate passengers. 
 

Is this normal or slower than personal experiences?

Communication Fails:

There hasn’t been a good explanation by any staff members (granted we have only overheard conversations and not bothered or been annoyed enough to ask) but there is always a smile, and the word “delay” is thrown out. 🤷🏿‍♂️ 

 

But the comedy comes in when they make general announcements across the ship regarding the tendering, the message is:

“We would like to invite ALL our guests …”

Yes, there is an emphasis on “all” and the dining room at the buffet looks like the Kalahari Desert, heads popping up like meerkats and a pin drop hush among the crowd. And then the announcement continues after an unnecessary dramatic pause:

”… with Group S tender reservations.”

The heads disappear quicker than a Whack-A-Mole game, the chatter ramps right back up and the waiting continues.

If using commercial Cabo tenders - the capacity is known to the vendor - - -

If using the life boats as tenders - the capacity is limited and posted and NCL

would no doubt err of the side of caution reducing that number not blocking aisles

to move guests speedily out of the LB to their excursion or other business.

Maybe nudging tweaking that capacity on the first few boats going ashore and the

last few returning to the ship.

The tenders were good and the day was fine. But we were one of the people that weren’t worried about it. Just seemed slow to take as many hours as it did to get everyone tendered. We were on the last tender with the crew going aboard. It was nearly 3 hours after rendering started.
