lifeasme123 Posted January 28, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Has anyone brought their own snorkeling gear and inflatable paddleboards to use at ocean cay? We will also use these, along with a sun shelter, at Grand cayman.
Rare Morgsmom Posted January 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2023 I've brought snorkel gear as well as pool noodles with no problem (though the port security made me open my suitcase to look at the pool noodle 🙂 Can't speak to blow up paddleboards.

We have seen kids with inflatable items, have never seen an inflatable paddle board being used but would assume okay, always worth a try, really no one around to say “no.”

But you can try the Lagoon; that's where the ship's kayaking excursions go. Otherwise the lifeguard patrols on jet skis are MANIACS and zoom around the island 10000 miles an hour causing big wakes .... (be forewarned) Oh yes, there are those lifeguards, of course I do not know what they do regarding inflatable items, OP - there are beach areas where people swim and snorkel that do not have lifeguards. lifeasme123 Posted January 30, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted January 30, 2023 Thank you everyone for the responses! I just wanted to make sure they will not come and make us put away the paddleboards, floats, etc. Last time we were at Ocean Cay, I brought the beach tent and were given looks. Thought I check if anyone had experience in brining their own equipment.
MJC Posted January 30, 2023 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2023 Have taken our own snorkel gear and inflatable noodles many times. Don't know about paddleboards. How does that work, do you bring a foot pump?
