VOOM Discount for Casino Royale Question

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello there fellow cruisers, I have a quick question that I am hoping someone has some insight on.

I am Prime with Casino Royale and have a comp cruise booked for May. On the tier grid is shows "VOOM® Surf & Stream Internet Wi-Fi Packages DISCOUNT" for Prime.
I called Casino Royale to ask if I need to utilize this discount through them, wait until I am onboard, or am I able to use the discount if I am booking on the cruise planner ahead of the cruise.

They told me they cannot do it on the phone, the discount is not available if booking on the planner ahead of the cruise, and that I would have to wait until I get on the ship. I usually book the internet ahead of time, as it's cheaper than waiting until you're on board, so I asked what the discount is on the internet, so I would know which route to go (cheaper ahead of time without the tier discount or cheaper on the ship with the tier discount) and they told me "there is no specific discount percentage, so I am unsure."

Does anyone know how to utilize the VOOM Casino discount and minimize the cost?
Thanks in advance.

The internet discount for Prime is 30% on plans.  I'm D+ and use my 2 X 24 coupons first and then use the Prime discount on the remaining days of the package.

Do you do this once on the ship, or is there a way to do it before the sail date for the pre cruise discount?

You can choose the in advance pricing with no casino discount, or you can choose the onboard pricing minus the Prime discount. Not both.

If I reach Prime while on board, can I get the discount right away?  I'll be on a TA that starts with 8 sea days, so I figure I should reach Prime in the first few days and can be without Internet until then (plus I'm Diamond and can use my one 24 hour period to cover 2 days).  My current VOOM offer is 30% off, so this way I can skip a few days, use my Diamond benefit, and then still get the same price for the remainder of the cruise.

I’m looking into this very same question. From the answers below, it’s 30% onboard price, so now I wonder How much is VOOM for 7 days on Symphony of the Seas?

You can see the daily plan cost in your planner.  For instance, my upcoming August sail. the daily costs are $20.99 in the cruise planner and $26.99 for on board.

Are you sure the “regular” price shown on the cruise planner is the same as price on board?

90% sure.  On my February 4 sail the daily internet plan was $26.99.
The single day from memory  was $29.99

I would not count on it.  You can however get a drink sticker from the host.  I would just buy from the planner at this point.

Speak to the Casino Host.  The folks that apply the discount are the VOOM technicians and they go by the Sea Pass designation.
