workingstiff Posted March 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2006 We're leaving 3/17 on Mercury for the Mexican Riviera, and will be in Cabo on 3/19. We've booked a whale watching excursion on the Zodiacs. Anyone just back from the area that can elaborate on our chances of seeing whales? If they're gone, we can book something else or just chill, but I'm wondering about the chances of actually seeing some whales in late March. kelmac Posted March 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2006 Cabo, in March, is the only time I've seen whales "breach" the surface and leap out of the water. Very, very impressive! :) We've seen whales in Alaska, Hawaii, CA, New England, but the best show was in Cabo. Enjoy! Kel
jagoffee Posted March 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2006 We were in Cabo last month and the whale watching was fantastic. I am not sure why the Zodiacs were not available, but we went on the ship excursion on a large boat. I was concerned, but it was great. We saw a lot of whale including a baby whale breaching over and over with "Mom" slapping the service and "waving". It was outstanding even better than the Maui whale watching that was also outstanding. Have fun. I have the best video.
